Written, designed, and developed by the print and web teams at Green Group Studio, Mortgage Central is a microsite that complements and enhances Florida Community Bank’s primary website. This comprehensive resource was designed to provide information on all facets of mortgages – essentially a resource where one can learn all there is to know about mortgages, the home buying process, and the residential lending products offered by FCB. Mortgage Central is a resounding success and testament to the talents at work at Green Group Studio.

Companies, both large and small, want to know what a website will cost them before moving forward with such an investment. Unfortunately, there is no exact answer that can be provided without knowing their unique set of business needs first. Very much like asking how much a house costs, the answer depends on a variety of factors, including how big it is, what features are needed, the location, and the layout. A website is your business' online home; how much are you willing to pay for it? While smaller businesses can get away with a relatively cheap informational website ranging from $3,000-$5,000, if the website is the backbone of your revenue model, you can expect that the additional required functionality to increase the cost. Typically, medium-sized business websites in 2016 can cost anywhere from $8k to $20k, while large (or web-based) businesses can expect to pay $10-100k+ for a website. These increased costs are all related to the amount of functionality. The more expensive websites have web application development needs (where specific business, membership, or complex e-commerce tasks are carried out).

Responsive Web Design:
One website, Many devices.

With 91% of U.S. residents always within reach of a smartphone and/or tablet, there is only one solution for your website: Responsive Web Design. 28% of Internet usage comes from mobile phones and is projected to take over desktop usage by 2014. Without a mobile-friendly site, you’ll be driving users to your competition. According to Masha Fisch of Google Mobile Ads Marketing, “67% of users are more likely to buy from a mobile-friendly site, so if that site’s not yours, you’ll be missing out in a big way.”

speed up and optimize image

In this age of smartphones and high-speed Internet, we’ve come to expect everything to be available from anywhere, immediately. As a result, one of the fastest ways to annoy visitors of your website is by making them wait for your site to load. No one has ever enjoyed waiting for what they want. It isn’t always the website’s fault that a page is loading slowly, but there are several things you can do to minimize load times for most users. It doesn’t matter if you’re a programmer, designer, or just someone posting content to your website, you can speed up your website.

We are excited to be rolling out a brand new online system that allows the high school and college faculty to collaborate on student development through curriculum improvement. Specifically, we are designing a Content Management System (CMS) website for the school to address any "gaps" between the high school and college curricula in the areas of Biology and Chemistry.

We will keep you posted once this website is published, although the actual collaboration functionality will be limited to Palm Beach County Educational faculty.

Proprietary CMS’s are developed by a private team of developers with the intention of creating a customizable solution for specific clients needs. However, this “one-size fits most” approach has a wide range of pitfalls that many people are simply not aware of.  Not only does a proprietary CMS lack any developer community support, but often restricts you from owning and having complete control of your own web site.

In most cases, custom CMS’s often have a small team of developers that are tasked with simply creating the CMS, without a dedicated team to the CMS’s enhancements and/or security.
