PBC Tax Collector’s Office Website Redevelopment

Green Group Studio was commissioned by the Palm Beach County Tax Collector’s Office to overhaul their website with a focus on modernizing and enhancing user experience for residents. The newly launched platform includes a range of state-of-the-art features, setting a new standard for government websites.

We started with mocking up the homepage of the new website to feature a highly customizable banner system that can showcase any kind of content from video to html countdowns to graphics with links. The system was developed for ease of management as well, complete with the ability to schedule content publication dates, allowing for announcements and timely notices with ease. Once the homepage was developed, all other pages were thoughtfully designed using prototyping software to showcase the page layout options and interactive elements.

We engineered a new reservation system from the ground up, with customizable “journeys“ that guide the visitor along a path, identifying the specific documents needed for their specific appointment, customized based on their selections, and optionally emailed to the user so they can be prepared for their visit.

One of the main features of the website is a dynamic header with specialized content blocks that the client could create & insert in the header of the website. This multimedia content block was set up to be easily managed, accommodating all types of content including text & image, video, and coded elements including countdown timers. We also created the ability for the content to turn on and off, based on publishing schedules for each item.

The content of the website was designed in a way that was modular and easily edible by someone without coding experience. The library of user-selectable custom-coded sections include built-in mobile responsiveness, eliminating concerns for mobile when making page edits.

To maintain visual consistency and streamline the selection of standardized elements with pre-approved styling, we developed a comprehensive Digital Brand Guide. This guide ensures that all digital assets related to the brand and website adhere to established visual standards, creating a cohesive brand look and feel through consistent use of fonts, colors, and design elements. It’s an invaluable resource for internal use, particularly for team members who are new to the brand.

Surrounding the centerpiece are several dozen individual puzzle pieces provided for employees to sign and physically interlock into the wall installation. This approach transforms the artwork into a living tapestry that represents collective commitment, employee engagement, and unity. The system was intentionally designed to be modular and updatable, allowing puzzle pieces to be added or removed over time as staff changes occur.

The finished installation serves as a focal point within the downtown office and was also adapted and produced for additional Tax Collector offices throughout Palm Beach County, ensuring a consistent and impactful presence across all locations.
